Scope

During the pilot phase, patientINFORM concentrated on three diseases – cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Collectively, these diseases account for nearly two out of every three deaths in America. According to the National Vital Statistics Report, more than 1.5 million Americans die from cancer, diabetes, heart disease or stroke each year.

Now that the pilot phase is over, patientINFORM will work to extend our services to cover a wider range of medical conditions and provide access to a larger number of summaries and articles. The goal of patientINFORM continues to be to provide a consumer-friendly resource to help the general population understand some of the most serious diseases and medical conditions.
